No batch of links this week: OoO end-of-year check-in
Since the previous email went out to all of you, I’ve written to paying subscribers about making corporate events better, then about rethinking gift giving. Ahead, they will receive a magnum opus on friendship that I hope will explain a few things.
Rather than share some recent links on the subjects of this newsletter, I wanted to quickly link to some spots where I’ve been quoted myself in recent months. On Wordle, on middle seats, on WhatsApp groups, on Twitter, on hand-written notes, on virtual networking, on Cyber Monday, and on what to do after a layoff. A few more of these personal mentions are in the works so stay tuned.
As we turn the corner into 2023, I hope to make a few tweaks to the format of the newsletter to enhance it in Season 2. I’ve been pleased with how this project has turned out, and I am proud to have written enough words in 2022 that comprise a novel. I’d rather to have written what I have. I’ve picked up many new followers along the way, and I’ve recharged relationships with more familiar people, too. It’s been helpful to me to have a place to write on a regular basis with supporters on the other end of the enterprise.
For those of you still on the fence about subscribing to the weekly newsletter to read and participate, what’s holding you back? For those who read only occasionally, what’s making it that way? What’s missing? And the two out of three of you who are avid readers beyond being simple subscribers, what keeps you coming back?
The newsletter, like we are, is in constant transition, and modifications are necessary ahead. I want to keep the momentum of 2022 going. I want to pick up steam with what we’re taking with us from the year past. I want to create new space to pursue more with what we’ve decided to leave behind. All aboard.
